Turbocharged Action! Mammootty Delivers in "Turbo"Language: MalayalamGenre: Action, ComedyDirector: VaishakhWriter: Midhun Manuel ThomasCast: Mammootty, Raj B. Shetty, Sunil, Anjana Jayaprakash, Shabareesh Varma and othersRuntime: 155 minutesAvailable in: TheatresMammootty delivers electrifying action in "Turbo," but the film struggles with plot and emotional depth.Mammootty Steals the Show:At 72, Mammootty remains a powerhouse. His stylish fight scenes are a highlight, showcasing impressive agility. The movie delivers exciting action sequences and includes some fun nods to Hollywood icons like Tony Stark and Vito Corleone. What Doesn't Work:The story has some gaps, especially towards the end. The soundtrack, though decent, lacks truly memorable tunes. The "turbo" sound effects used for Mammootty's entrances feel out of place and disrupt the flow.Final Verdict:"Turbo" isn't perfect. The plot has holes and lacks emotional connection. However, the action is exciting, the story is engaging, and Mammootty's performance shines. Can a film succeed on pure action and entertainment value alone? Mollywood is gearing up to make history this year with their impressive line-up! While many may not be aware of this release, the numbers speak for themselves. If you have a market in Kerala, consider adding cinema to your media plan. Don't miss out on this opportunity! #mollywood #brandmanager #cinemaadvertisingBrajabandhu Roul praveen Nair Tanushree Jain Hemal Vadera"In sharp contrast is Malayalam cinema, which is on a dream run in 2024. Manjummel Boys, which released in February, is the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all-time, having grossed about 160 cr in India, and still going strong. It has been supported by a slew of compelling Malayalam films, and the share of Malayalam cinema stands at the box-office currently stands at about 18%, which is a staggering three times its share in 2022 and 2023.Malayalam cinema is high on content (theme, concept, story, etc.), and relies far lesser on stars than its Telugu, Tamil and Hindi counterparts. As on date, Malayalam cinema has grossed 80% more than Tamil cinema this year, a unimaginable finding, given that Tamil theatrical audience in India in 2023 were 2.5 times that of Malayalam, and Tamil footfalls were three times those of Malayalam."https://lnkd.in/dzk6_aMr

Content remains the King as always, the consumer behaviour is changing rapidly- rejection of big budget and star studded films with poor story and treatment, struggle to compete with world class OTT contents, absence or failure of small and medium budget movies to act as filler in between the big releases, expensive Ticket prices and lack of differentiated stories.. the list can be long!! The industry has got to hold its own and bring about those larger than life experiences to the BIG Screen...."film trade experts expect Indian box office collections to improve in the second half of 2024 when bigger films like Singham Again, Sarfira and Pushpa 2 release,..""need to make films with differentiated stories, large-ticket films and have a blend of content and star power because content or star power alone doesn’t work""..film industry’s current slowdown can also be attributed to some large films being postponed and poor flow of Hollywood content.."#films #bollywood #indiancinemas #multiplexes #filmindustry #movies

Bold - courageous, confident & fearless! This is what the Malayalam film industry is showing us & this is what we must learn from them. Another bold move, holding on to ott/satellite rights & negotiating the same after release. # Aavesham hits the jackpot with a 35 cr digital deal. With Fafa headlining Aavesham, there is always the temptation of pre-sale as a safety filter. But no! the Malayalam industry is bold & the bold break records & win, every time! # The fact that pre-sale is dwindling (not an option), in the Malayalam industry is actually a blessing in disguise as film makers are evaluating scripts and making films primarily from a theatrical POV, which is the way it should be. # My firm belief - films are meant for the big screen & not devices!

Fahadh Faasil sheds light on Malayalam cinema's ongoing struggle to secure OTT platforms, emphasizing the industry's lack of solid backing in this digital realm. Despite the remarkable growth of the trade, Faasil reveals that Malayalam films still face hurdles in cracking OTT deals, a stark contrast to the smoother negotiations experienced by other Indian film industries. The actor-producer's candid remarks underscore the challenges faced by Malayalam cinema, where success at the box office remains a prerequisite for accessing OTT platforms—a requirement not as stringent for films from other regions. Faasil's insights into the industry's dynamics prompt reflection on the need for greater support and recognition for Malayalam cinema in the digital arena. #FahadhFaasil #MalayalamCinema #OTTPlatforms #FilmIndustryStruggles #DigitalStreaming

#filmyfridaysMovies have always had a great impact on me. Films were my biggest source of entertainment, thanks to my dad who loved them too.Language was never a barrier as Madras as a city was open to the most prominent of all 4 South Indian films apart from Hindi films. With a lot of Malayali friends , I saw a lot of Malayalam films and the storytelling always fascinated me. My dad would make it a point to take us to the theatre to watch films. An outing we all looked forward to as a family. In recent times however, there are a few movies that pulled me into a theatrical experience. Most are best seen on OTT very soon. One of the most recent movies that pulled me to a late night show in theatres is "Aadujeevitham- the Goat life" It was amazing to see what the team presented. Was curious about the film from the time I saw the trailer. The promotions & interviews further made me want the big screen watch. It truly was an experience! The connect to the #voiceinme was visible.🎯 Vision: The vision of Blessy the Director & the commitment of the main lead Prithviraj and every one else is a treat to experience. The metaphorical expanse of the desert & the plight of the protagonist are so beautifully intertwined that you are drawn into his trials yourself too. 🎯 Outcome = Events + Response. The outcome of the 16 year investment into the film by everyone is evident in the final product. The challenge of making this in a desert with a particular breed of goats and camel was immense. With the pandemic it was 4 years lost The journeys of each of those involved evolved. The commitment of completing this masterpiece stayed.🎯 Information about this real life saga came from a bestseller. The challenge was how much would they edit from the original story. This FILTER was important keep the audience hooked.🎯 Communication was key. From only a possible low key release in a few states with the film being localised 16 years ago, Covid opened the world to Malayalam films. The reach & and response thus was global in a much grander way. The 16 year journey also helped in putting this film on a bigger platform and upped the overall quality of the entire experience. Social media was utilised and everyone was talking about this amazing film.🎯 Energy: The energy it carried & what it garnered were enough to keep the curiosity alive. Every connect to the film made it their duty to spread the word. The Energy around this film was phenomenal.Every connection came forward to contribute their bit to make this movie a talking point. With the clarity in Vision, control over Outcome, filter of Information, subtle Communication Skills , you will attract the Energy to BE the difference. The whole experience of seeing the VOICE of the entire team unfold was a moment when the line between REEL & REAL blurred. An experience I will cherish for a long time. Would love to know if you have experienced such a connection to VOICE.#india #resilience
