Texas Football Recruiting: 2022 class commitment tracker (2024)

One of the primary reasons Texas chose to part ways with Tom Herman was due to the drop-off in recruiting. The 2021 group finished as the No. 17 class in the country and second in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma.

Now that head coach Steve Sarkisian has taken over, recruiting has been revitalized.

For his first full recruiting cycle at Texas, Sarkisian has signed 28 recruits and four transfers to the 2022 class and it’s currently rated the No. 5 class in the country according to 247Sports.

The Longhorns lost four-star running back Jamarion Miller, four-star wide receiver Armani Winfield, and three-star linebacker Eoghan Kerry within the span of a few days this cycle.

However, they gained commitments from Kelvin Banks, Cam Williams, and Neto Umeozulu shortly before the early signing period to form what could be one of the best offensive line hauls in program history.

The coaching staff released the cycle’s motto as #22EFFECT. Sarkisian is aware this recruiting class will have a lasting effect on the foundation he is building with the Longhorns.
