What happened to my eHealth BC? ›

MyCareCompass is a free, secure service brought to you by LifeLabs, offering more than just results. Formerly known as my ehealth and my results™, MyCareCompass reflects our new services, designed to help you navigate your health.

Go to the Health Gateway website at healthgateway.gov.bc.ca. Or you can use the Health Gateway mobile app. View your lab results. Use the Filter option to view a list of just your lab results.

Make sure you use your Email and Password from your MyCareCompass account. Enter the email address you used to create your MyCareCompass account. Your MyCareCompass password is cAsE seNsiTive, at least 8 characters long, and contains at least one number or special character.

Most lab results are released from the testing lab and posted to your account within 24 hours.

Most Important issues are lack of commitment by healthcare authorities and missing interoperability among different health information systems. From past more than a decade, researchers are raising different challenges facing by eHealth.

CareConnect is British Columbia's secure, view-only Electronic Health Record (EHR) that offers authorized care providers access to an integrated, provincial view of patient-centric information available 24/7 to support the delivery of patient care.

The results are sent back to the hospital or to your GP practice. Some test results will be ready the same day or a few days later, although others may not be available for a few weeks. You'll be told when your results will be ready and how you'll be given them.

Find results for blood tests, cervix or colon cancer screenings, COVID-19 test results, and other lab tests done in B.C. Results are available back to 2020. Most lab results are available about 2 to 3 days after your test. Pathology tests, like a tissue biopsy, are available within a few weeks after your test.

Can I drink water before blood test LifeLabs? ›

- Do not eat or drink (except water) for 8-10 hours before your blood test.

These pending test results are usually for tests with long turnaround times, such as blood cultures or sexually transmitted diseases. The system populates these events into a list that must be reviewed by the end of each shift (Figure 2).

It depends on the tests. A basic CBC and chem 12, which would show a complete blood count, electrolytes, glucose, kidney function, and calcium would be about $100–150. You can talk to your physician or lab about cash discounts and possibly get a 10–25% discount.

That depends on the test. Some can be done right in the office or a nearby lab, so you may have the results that day or the next. Other tests may take days or weeks, especially if they have to be sent to a specific kind of lab.

Getting your blood test results

You may get your blood test results after a few days, and usually within a few weeks. If you do not hear anything after a few weeks, contact the GP surgery or specialist. The GP, nurse, or specialist should talk to you about your results and explain what happens next.

EHR, or electronic health record

So with an EHR system, your family doctor can instantly send medical records to your heart specialist, your hospital, the lab, your drugstore, and your computer at home.

Contact the health service provider that holds your health information to request access. Only you or another person you've authorised, such as a legal guardian or authorised representative, can make the request. You may be asked to put your request in writing and for information that identifies you.

Use your BC Services Card to access publicly funded health services through Medical Services Plan (MSP) benefits. You are expected to show a valid BC Services Card when you access publicly funded health services. In an emergency, no one will be denied essential medical care.
